access code

be "555", but may be different

code 555 (this code should
only be dialed from
one source
at a time).

Any
console
in the
system
can perform
tie
same
functions
using
the
Maintenance
Function
code
whir the
exception
of
accessing
a specific
speech
path
and
receiver.
Some
maintenance
functions
can only be performed
from
a console
(Table 6-4).
Note:
The rotary
switches
on the Tone
Control
Card (sOot 18) should
usually
be set so that
the top switch
is NCT 9, 0, 1 or 2. See
paragraph
5.06,
"Select
a Speech
Path'
fcr the
use
of these
switches.

The test line or console
dials 555 + 2 + nnn. where
'Yrnn" is the
3-digit
equipment
number
including
leading
zeros
Reorder
tone
indicates
that
the
equipment
number
is not that: of an extension
or
trunk.
Busy tone indicates
that the equipment
is not idle; otherwise
the
line is connected.
If the trunk
is a member
of a group
programmed
"wait
for
dial tone",
the
connection
is not
made
until
dial tone
is
received.

5.04
The test
line or console
dials 555 + 3 + rtnn (set) or 555 + 4 +
nnn (clear), where
"nnn"
is either
the 3-d@% equipment
number
of a receiver,
or is 3 + the 2-digit
speech
path number
(Le., 301-331).
Reorder
tone
indicates
that
the
number
is invaM
and
dial tone
in-
dicates
that the operation
is completed.
D. Clear All Errors
5.05
The test line or console
goes
off-hook
and dials 555 + 1. Dial
tone
is returned.
All outstanding
minor
atarms
are cleared
All
busied-out
receivers,
generators
and
speech
paas
are
set back
to
normal,
and the self-test
function
is restarted.
