HULL - FRONT PART
REPLACING A WING VALANCE, A FRONT PART
OF THE BUTTRESS AHO THE FRONT FRAMEWOR K
NOTE - Because of the point between the mechon-
1col fastening reinforcement panels correct
welding is not ol.,,oys possible.
In this case :
On the inside of the engine comportment, braze
the wing valance and the buttress sole plate at
the mechanical fastening reinforcement level (q).
With the assembly

Spot weld the upper port of the battery supports
to the wing valance at 290 mm from the bulkhead
with o
290
mm spoce between them.
Torch weld :
(r) - the lower port of the battery supports
On the buttress so le plate
(s) - the end of the sole plate to the bulkheod-
front floor 1oint.
PROTECTION ·SEALING
·Apply a coot of sealing compound (by brush).
(t ) - at the shock absorber reinforcement joint.
(u) • above the bul kheod ond the scuttle cross
piece ond wing valance joint.
·Apply o boll of filler to the bulkhead wing val-
ance angle (v).
• Pro tect the thrust face (b) of the shock absor-
ber fa stening plate.
- Apply o coot of sound-proofing product on the
outer face of the wing valance (c).
• Point the wing vole.nee, the buttress, the front
framework ond the ports cleaned for welding.
