REASSEMBLY
Timing
- Fit the camshaft.
WARNING
011 some XM engine camshafts. the groove
(a)
is 8
mm
wide instead of 5
mm
to emure co"ec:r
lubrication of the rocker assembly.

at (b) (with the bon (c)J ro11 be fitted on XM - KF6
or KF 5 engines on condition that black

springs
are
fitted.
On 504 U.S. models
The camshaft m.irked AP or US at (b) . is
10 bH
used for
69, 70, 7l and 72 models (Emission
control standards) and yellow valve springs arc
to be fitted
The camshaft marked XN1 at
(b)
and with a
shoulder at
(cl.
is
to be
used for 73 models and
black valve springs are to
be
fitted.
- Tighten the reta 1 n1 ng plate to 1.7 m.kg (12 It. lbs).
Install
- the
paper
gasket
- thP. steel plate
KF 6 • KF 5 and XN 2 engines.
- When
securing
the
11m1ng
housing, the gap (d) of
0 55
mm (or
2.5
mm,
depending on
the housing)
between the boss and the camshaft end must be
respected.
