REPL ACING A COMPLETE BUTTRESS OF THE FRONT FRAMEWORK
CUTT ING (cont'd)
- Remove the fosten1ng bolts and rot se the front
of the hul l
·Cut ·
(j) - the connecting side member following its
shape
(k) - the rear port of the buttress flush with the
floor.
UNFASTENING
· Free the el ectric welded spots .
(I) · under the front floor
(m) ·on the front sole plate of the s idemember
( n) · at the bu lkheod-floor t oint
(o ) ·on the wing volonce
(p) ·on the front ports of the volonces
(q )
·on the lower cross ;:>tece support.
·Straighten and smooth the damaged ports of the
co~ponents to
be kept. Refill the holes, smooth
the a d joining edges.
PREPARATION OF THE HEW COMPONENTS
- Clean the edges to be welded.

Welding
NOTE · The buttress is an important component
of the underbody. Further, particular core must
be
token in preparing the floor and welding the
buttress.
· Fit the new buttress on the bench supports,
then p la ce ond fit the hull
· With the assembly

Spot weld the rear port :
(a ) - of the buttress
(b) ·of the connecting s1demember
under the front floor.
