PRESSURE TESTING
II · LOW PRESSURE TESTING
- Unscrew the knurled nut
(a)
to release nressure to
zero
("0") on the L.P.
gauge
(d).
N.B.
·If
pressure
is indicated, however low, refer to
servo-unit
checking,
page
10 06.
- Gently turn the knurled nut
lockwiS€ until the
pressure is stabilised at, 10 p.s.1.
(0,7
bars).
-
There
should
be no fall in pressure after an interval
of 15 minutes. If there is. check for leaks
around
cups and seals. Trace, rectify and
re-check.
N.B.
-
Leakage
through the main cup of the master·
cylinder will
not be
indicated
by
a fall
in
liquid level,
or by traces of fluid on the outside.
- 504 with dual-circuit master-cylinder
-
Close the
rear
bleed screw.
Connect the Testarc
50
gauge
to
the rear
circuit
and the
bleed hose
and bottle
to
a
rear
bleed
screw
hole.
·
Repeat
the test
as at
I
and 11.
-
Top-up fluid level, in the reservoir.
