INSPECTION PROCEDURE
Check operation of stop light.
Check that stop light comes on when brake pedal is depressed, and turns off when brake pedal
is released.
Input signal check.
Check voltage between terminal STP+, STP– of cruise control ECU
connector and body ground.
Check for open in harness and connectors between terminal STP+ of cruise control ECU
and stop light switch, terminal STP– of cruise control ECU and stop light switch. (See

Check and replace cruise control ECU.

Check stop light circuit (See page
BE–50).
1. See input signal check on page BE–172.
2. Check the indicator light when the brake
pedal is depressed.
The indicator light goes off when the brake
pedal is depressed.
Proceed to next circuit inspection shown
on matrix chart (See page BE–178).
Remove cruise control ECU with connectors still
connected.
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Measure voltage between terminal STP+,
STP– of cruise control ECU connector and
body ground, when the brake pedal is
depressed and released.

10– 14V
Depressed
Released 10–14V
Proceed to next circuit inspection shown
on matrix chart (See page BE–178).
Repair or replace harness or connector.

10– 14V
