Stop Light Circuit
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this circuit is to prevent the engine from stalling when the brakes are suddenly applied
while driving in lock–up condition.
When the brake pedal is operated, this switch sends a signal to the ECM. Then the ECM cancels opera–
tion of the lock–up clutch while braking is in progress.
DIAGNOSTIC CHART
Check operation of stop light.
Check stop light signal.
Check harness and connector between ECM
and stop light switch (See page IN–31) .
Check and replace ECM.

Repair or replace harness of con–
