Command Modes

To navigate and launch various CLI modes, use specific commands. Navigation to these modes is described
in the following sections.
BGP ADDRESS-FAMILY Mode
To enable or configure IPv4 or IPv6 for BGP, use BGP ADDRESS-FAMILY mode. For more information, see
Border Gateway Protocol IPv4
To enter BGP ADDRESS-FAMILY mode:

Verify that you are logged in to ROUTER BGP mode.

Enter the command address-family then the protocol type (ipv4 multicast or ipv6 unicast).
The prompt changes to include (conf-router_bgp_af) for IPv4 or (conf-router_bgpv6_af) for IPv6.
CLASS-MAP Mode
To create or configure a class map, use CLASS-MAP mode. For more information, see
Policy-Based QoS
Commands.
To enter CLASS-MAP mode:

Verify that you are logged in to CONFIGURATION mode.

Enter the class-map command then enter the class map name. The prompt changes to include
(config-class-map).
You can return to CONFIGURATION mode by using the exit command.
CONFIGURATION Mode
In EXEC Privilege mode, use the configure command to enter CONFIGURATION mode and configure
routing protocols and access interfaces.
To enter CONFIGURATION mode:

Verify that you are logged in to EXEC Privilege mode.

Enter the configure command. The prompt changes to include (conf).
From this mode, you can enter INTERFACE mode by using the interface command.
