remove it from tho differential
on the ring gea r
casg.
SPEED SENSOR (DRIVE GEAR SIDE):

Using SST, remove the side bearing.

at the oosition where the speed sensor drive gear is

Remove the speod sensor drive gear.

Using SST, rsmove the side bearing.

at the oosition where the differential case is indented,
INSPECT SIDE GEAR BACKLASH
Using a dial indicator, moasure tho backlash of one
s i d e g e a r w h i l e h o l d i n g o n e p i n i o n t o w a r d t h e c a s s .
S t a n d a r d b a c k l a s h :
0.05 - 0.20 mm (0.0020-0'0079 in.)
lf the backlash does not meet specification, install the
corr6ct thrust washsr to the sids g€ars.
