SUSPENSION ANO AXLE _ FRONT DRIVE SHAFT(7A-FE)
FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DISASSEMBLY
1 . C H E C K D R I V E S H A F T
(a) Check to s6e that thsre is no play in ths outboard
joint.
(b) Check to se6 that the inboard joint slides smoothly in
th6 thrust directio n.
(c) Check to see that there is no noticeable play in the
radial direction of the inboard joint.
(d) Check for damage to the boots.
2. REMOVE INBOARD JOINT BOOT CLAMPS
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 boot clamps.
(b) Slide the inboard joint boot toward the outboard joint.

R E M O V E I N B O A R D J O I N T T U L I P
(a) Place matchmarks on the inboard joint tulip, tripod
and drive shaft.
NOTICE: Do not punch the marks.
(b) Remove the inboard joint tulip from lhe drive shaft.
4. REMOVE TRIPOD JOINT
( a ) U s i n g a s n a p r i n g e x p a n d e r , r e m o v 6 t h 6 s n a p r i n g .
(b) Place matchmarks on the shaft and tripod.
NOTICE: Do not punch the marks.
(c) Using a brass bar and hammer, remove the tripod joint
f rom the drive shaft.
NOTICE: Oo not tap the roller.
