BOOY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM _ PRECAUTION

P R E C A U T I O N
Take care to obs€rve the foltowing prscautions when performing inspections or, r'"touui''5,id
replacement of body electrical relatod parts.
HEADLIGHT SYSTEM
.
Halog6n bulbs have pressurized gas inside and require special handling, They can burst if
scratchgd or dropped. Hold a bulb only by its plastic or motal case.
Don't touch the glass part of a bulb with bare hands.
SRS (SUPPLEMENTAL
RESTRAINT SYSTEM)
Failure to carry out service operations in the cor€ct sequ€nce could cause the airbag systsm to
unexpectedly deploy during servicing, possibly leading to a serious accident'
Further, if a mistake is made in servicing the airbag syst€m, it is possible tho airbag may fail to
operate when required. Before performing servicing (including removal or installation of parts,
inspection or replacement), be sure to road the following items carefully, then follow the corrsct
procedure described in the repair manual.

NevEr disassemble the stoering wheel pad assembly.

Do not subject tha stoering wheel pad to shocks or bring magnets closo to it.
.
Do not sxpose the steering wheel pad to high temperatures or fire.

lf grease, cleaner, oil or water gets on the ste€ring wheel pad. promptly wip€ it off with t dry
m
cloth.

Do not drop the steering wheel pad. Never use a st€ering wheel pad which has been dropped,

Never inslall the steering wheel and pad in another vehicle,
.
Wh6n th6 st€ering wheel pad is removed, store it on a stable, flat place with tho pad surface
facing upwards. Never place anything on top of the pad.

Wh6n work on th6 vehiclo will produce too strong a shock, first loosen the sensor lock
16l6ase bolt until it turns freely and perform th€ work after sensor lock occurs.

Evon in casss where the vehicle is in a low- impact accident whare th€ airbag is not
activat€d, always check the pad surfacg and airbag sensor part. lf dents, cracks or deforma-
tion is visible, replace the airbag with a new assembly.

When disposing of the vehicle or steering wheel, always deploy the airbag first.

Tho deployed inflator inside th€ stsering wheel pad is hot. so dispose of it after it has been
cooled by atmospheric air. Nov€r apply water to cool it down'
AUDIO SYSTEM

lf tha n6gative (-)terminal cable is disconnected from the batt€ry, the preset AM, FM 1 and
FM 2 stations storod in memory ar€ srased, so be sure to not€ the stations and reset thom
aftgr the battery terminal is reconnected.
