1 . I N S P E C T F U E L R E C E I V E R G A U G E O P E R A T I O N
(a) Disconnect ths connoctor from the sender gauge as-
s e m D l y .
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON, check that the receiver
gauge needle indicates Eli4PTY.
{c) Connect tsrminals 2 and 3 on the wire harness side
connsctor through a 3.4 W t6st bulb.
( d ) T u r n t h s i g n i t i o n s w i t c h O N , c h e c k t h a t t h 6 b u l b l i g h t s
up and receiver gauge needle moves toward ths full
s r d s .
H I N T : B e c a u s e o f t h e s i l i c o n o i l i n t h e g a u g e , i t w i l l
taks a short tima for the n6edle to stabilize.
lf operation is not as specified, inspect the receiver
gauge resista nce.
2 . I N S P E C T F U E L R E C E I V E R G A U G E R E S I S T A N C E
Measure tha resistance between terminals,
lf resistance valua is not as specified, replace the fuel
receiver gauge.

(a) Connect a series of three 1.5 V dry csll battories.
(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the dry coll batte-
ries to terminal 2 through a 3.4 W tost bulb and the
negativs (-) lead to tarminal 3.
(c) Chsck that the voltage rises between lerminals 3 and
2 as the float is moved from the too to bottom posi-
t i o n .
