DESCRIPTION
lf a malfunction occurs, the system will identify the
oroblem and the ECU will store the codss for the
trou ble items.
At the samo time, the system informs the driver of a
m a l f u n c t i o n v i a t h e ' A B S ' w a r n i n g l i g h t i n t h e c o m b i -
nation mater.
By turning on the ignition switch, disconnecting the
short pin of ths ch€ck conn€ctor 1 and use SST to
connect Tc and Er of the check connector, the trouble
can be identified by the number of blinks (diagnostic
troublE code) of the warning light.
ln the ev€nt of two or more codes, that having the
smallest numbered code will be identified first'

HINT: The warning light does not show tho diagnostic r$-
trouble codes while the vehicle is running.
DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM INSPECTION
1.
INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Inspect that tho batt€ry voltage is 10- 14 V.

CHECK THAT WARNING LIGHT TURNS ON
(a) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(b) Check that the 'ABS' warning light rurns on for 3
seconos.
lf not, inspect and repair or replace the fuse, bulb and
wire harness.

READ DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE
(a) Using SST, connect terminals Tc and Er of the check
con noctor.

(b) Pull out the short pin trom the terminals WA and WB
of ths chock conn€ctor
(c) Turn th€ ignition switch ON.
(d) In evEnt of a malfunction.4 seconds later tho warning
light will begin to blink. Read the number of blinks'
