L RANGE TEST
(a) While running in the L range, check to seo that thore
i s n o u p - s h i f t t o 2 n d g e a r .
(b) While running in the L range, releaso th€ accelerator
oedal and check the engine braking effect.
EVALUATION
lf there is no ongine braking effect:

First and reverse brake is defective
(c) Check for abnormal noises during acceleration and
deceleration.
R RANGE TEST
Shift into R range and, while starting at full throttle,
c h e c k f o r s l i p p i n g .
CAUTION: Before conducting this test snsuro that tha
te3t aroa is free from personnel and obstructions.
P RANGE TEST
StoD th€ v6hicle on a gradient (more than 5') and after
shifting into tho P range, release the parking brake.
Then check to s6e that the parking lock pawl holds the
vehicle in olace.
