SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Secure the column lower tube in a vise.
NOTICE: Do not tighten the viso too tight.
( b ) S e t S S T , t h e n u t ( 1 0 m m n o m i n a l d i a m e t e r , 1 . 2 5 m m
pitch). plate washer (36 mm outer diameter) and bolt
( 1 0 m m n o m i n a l d i a m e t e r , 1 . 2 5 m m p i t c h , 5 0 m m
length), as shown in the illustration.

(c) Remove th6 2 tilt No.2 bolts by using the sliding
hammsr on SST.
12. REMOVE TILT LEFT PAWL, TILT SUB LEVER, TILT
LEVER ASSEMBLY ANO TILT LEVER LOCK SHAFT
Remove rhe bolt.
(d) Rsmove the upper tubo with tho shaft assembly from
the lower tu be.
14. REMOVE MAIN SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Secure the column upper tube in a vise.
NOTICE: Do not tighton the viso too tight.
(b) Using SST, compr€ss the compression spring

NOTICE: Do not bend the univarsal joint of the shaft
assembly more than 20".
(c) Using snap ring pliers, remove ths snap ring.
