When replacing both the synchronizer ring and
gear. thsr€ is no need to apply any compound or
to rub thsm togothor.
NOTICE: Ensure the fine lapping compound is completely
washad off after rubbing.

INSPECT CLEARANCE OF SHIFT FORK AND HUB
SLEEVE
Using a feeler gaugE, measure the clearance between
the hub sleEve and shift fork.
Morimum clealanca:
1 .0 mm (0.039 in.)
lf the clearance exceeds the maximum, replace the
shift fork or hub sleeve.

INSPECT OUTPUT SHAFT
(a) Ch€ck the output shaft for wear or damage.
(b) Using a micrometer, moasure the outsr diameter of
the output shaft journal surfacE.
Minimum outei diamgtsr:
Part A 32.970 mm (1.2980 in.)
Part B 37.970 mm (1.4949 in.)
Parr C 3t .970 mm (1.2587 in')
lf the outer diameter is less than tho minimum, replace
th€ outout shaft.
(c) Using a dial indicator, check the shaft runout.
Maxlmum iunout:
0.05 mm (0.0020 in ')
lf the runout exceeds the maximum, replace the
output shaft.
OUTPUT SHAFT ASSEMBLY
HINT: Coat all of the sliding and rotating surfaces with
gear oil before assemblY.

INSTALL NO. 1 CLUTCH HUB INTO NO. 1 HUB
SLEEVE
Install the 3 springs and shifting keys to the No.1
clutch hub.
lnstall the No.1 hub sleeve to the No. l clutch hub.
