1. INSPECT DISASSEMBLED PARTS
Inspect the disassembled parts for wear, rust or
d a m a g e .
M E A S U R E B R A K E S H O E L I N I N G T H I C K N E S S
Using a scale, measure the thickness of tho shos
l i n i n g .

2.0 mm (0.079 in.)

MEASURE DISC INSIDE DIAMETER
Using a vernier caliper, measure the inside diameter of
t h s d i s c .
Standard inside diameter:
170.0 mm (6.69 in.)
Marimum inside diameter:
1 7 1 . 0 m m ( 6 . 7 3 i n . )
Replace the disc if the inside diameter is at th6 maxi-
m u m v a l u a o r m o r e . R e p l a c e t h o d i s c o r g r i n d i t w i t h a
lathe if the disc is scored or is worn unevenlv.

PROPER CONTACT
Apply chalk to the inside surface of the disc, then
grind down the brake shoe lining to fit. lf the contact
between the disc and the brak6 shoe lining is improp-
er, repair it using a braka shoe grinder or replace the
brake shoe assem bly.
MEASURE CLEARANCE BETWEEN PARKING
BRAKE SHOE AND LEVER
Using a feeler gaugs, moasu16 the clearancs.
