S€t up a dial indicator and measurs the drivo plate
r u n o u t .
Maximum Tunout:
0.20 mm (0.0079 in .
lf runout exceeds 0.20 mm (0.0079 in.) or if the ring
gear is damaged, replace tho drivs plate. lf Installing a
new drive Dlato, note the ori€ntation of spacers and
tig hte n the bolts.
Torque: 83 N'm (850 kgf'cm,61 ft lbf)

MEASURE TOROUE CONVERTER SLEEVE RUNOUT
(a) Temporarily mount the torquo converter to the drive
plate. Set uP a dial indicator.
Maximum runout:
0 . 3 0 m m ( 0 . 0 1 1 8 i n . )
lf runout exceeds 0.30 mm (0.01 l8 in.), try to corroct
by reorienting the installation of the convsrter' lf ox-
cessive runout cannot be corrected, replace the
torous converter c lutc h .
HINT: Mark the position of lho converter to ensure
correct installation.
(b) Remove the torque converter.
