ENGINES
ENGINE TUNE-UP PROCEDURES
Energize the sole-vac holding solenoid with
either of the following methods:
o Apply battery voltage (+12V) to the solenoid,
or
• Reconnect the sole-vac electrical connector
and turn on the rear window defogger; or, turn
on the air conditioner with the compressor
disconnected.
Open throttle for AT L E A S T 3.0 S E C O N D S
(1200 rpm) to allow the sole-vac holding
solenoid to fully extend.
Curb (die Speed Adjustment
Open throttle for AT L E A S T 3.0 S E C O N D S
(1200 rpm); then, close throttle.
Set the speed using the curb idle adjustment
screw on the throttle lever to obtain specified
rpm. (Automatic transmission in DRIVE with
parking brake applied).
Set the speed using the 1 /4-in hex-head
adjustment screw on the end of the sole-vac unit
to obtain the specified rpm.
Reopen the throttle above 1200 rpm to insure
the correct holding position; and, reset speed if
necessary.
Reconnect the vacuum hose to the sole-vac
actuator.
Reconnect the sole-vac electrical connector, if
disconnected.
