Removing and installing the oil separa‐
tor
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Commercially available sealant remover
♦ Sealant ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)
Removing
– Remove noise insulation ⇒ General body repairs, exterior;
Rep. gr. 66 ; Noise insulation; Removing and installing noise
insulation .
– Unscrew bolts -arrow- and push charge air cooling pump -
V188- to one side.
– Disconnect crankcase breather hose -3-.
– Release fasteners -2- -arrow- on cover -1- for oil separator and
detach cover.
– Slacken and remove bolts in the sequence: -9 ... 1-.
– Carefully release oil separator from bonded joint.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Please note the
following:

Danger of soiling lubrication system!
Cover exposed parts of the engine.
– Thoroughly clean sealing surfaces on cylinder block and on oil
separator using commercially available sealant remover.
– Clean surfaces; they must be free of oil and grease.
