4-cylinder petrol engine (1.2 l direct injection, 4 V, turbocharger, EA211) - Edition 02.2017
– Disconnect connector -2- from radiator outlet coolant temper‐
ature sender - G83- -3-.
– Set drip tray for workshop hoist - VAS 6208- underneath.
– Pull out retaining clip -1- and remove lower left coolant hose
from radiator. Drain coolant.
Note
Item -3- can be disregarded.
– Pull out retaining clip -arrow- and remove lower right coolant
hose from radiator for charge air cooling circuit. Drain coolant.
Vehicles with air conditioning compressor:
Note
If a used poly V-belt runs in the opposite direction when it is

refitted, this can cause breakage.
Before removing the Poly-V belt, mark the direction of rotation
♦
with chalk or felt-tipped pen for re-installation.
– To slacken poly V-belt, swivel tensioning device anti-clockwise
in -direction of arrow-.
– Secure tensioner with locking pin - T10060 A- .
– Remove the V-ribbed belt.
CAUTION
Risk of freezing injury caused by refrigerant.
– Do not open refrigerant circuit of air conditioning system.
– Unplug the connector -1- at the air conditioner compressor
regulating valve - N280- .
– Remove bolts -arrows- from air conditioner compressor.
Note
Make sure that air conditioner compressor and refrigerant

pipes and hoses are not damaged.
Do not stretch, kink or bend refrigerant pipes and hoses.
