– Remove toothed belt -1- together with crankshaft pulley -2-
from crankshaft journal.
• Milled surface of crankshaft sprocket -arrow- must be posi‐
tioned on milled surface of crankshaft journal.
• Contact surface between poly V-belt pulley and crankshaft
sprocket must be free of oil and grease.
Note
Renew bolts that are tightened with specified further tightening

angle.
Renew O-ring of plug if damaged.
♦
– Renew bolt -2- for camshaft adjuster on inlet side, and screw
it in to stop by hand.
– Renew bolt -1- for toothed belt pulley on exhaust side, and
screw it in to stop by hand.
• It should just be possible to turn the adjusters on the camshafts
without axial movement.
• The sheet-metal tab -arrow- of the belt tensioner must engage
in the cast notch of the cylinder head.
Observe sequence when fitting the toothed belt
