11. Make necessary VT1.5/STS-1 cross-connections for each node.
A.
Single OC-3 Ring Configuration
B.
Dual Ring Interworking (DRI) Configuration
C. Single/Dual OC-3/FiberReach Configuration
D. Stand Alone OC-3/FiberReach Configuration
E.
Single/Dual OC-3/OC-48 Configuration
F.
Single/Dual OC-3/OC-12 Configuration
12. Perform the appropriate end-to-end transmission test for circuit(s)
being put into service. For a circuit in a path-protected single
OC-3 ring network, use the sw-path-( ):address command
at both terminating nodes to switch the active path and repeat this
test on the other path.
A.
DS1 Single OC-3 Ring Test
B.
DS1 Dual Ring (DRI) Test
C. DS3 Single OC-3 Ring Test
D. S3 Dual Ring (DRI) Test
13. Use the rtrv-state-eqpt: command to determine the port
state of the EC-1 port of the circuit being established.
14.
NOTE:
If a port is in the nmon (n) state, the signal is not monitored
or alarmed. The port will not automatically go to the in
service (i) state when a signal is detected as it will in the
auto (a) state. In the nmon state, the port must be returned
to the auto state, using the set-state-ec1: command,
to turn on monitoring of signal failures and before any circuit
packs associated with that port can be removed from the
equipment list by the upd command.
Use the set-state-ec1: command to set the port state of the
EC-1 port of the circuit being established.
