Issue 2, February 2000
Meaning
The SONET Automatic Protection Switching (APS)
channel on the protection OC-3 line has failed.
Likely causes: Failure of the OLIU circuit pack on
the protection line (MAIN-2(P) at the far end or
failure of the OLIU circuit pack on the protection
line (MAIN-2(P)) at the near end.
An automatic turnup test is in progress.
A BBF5 JMPR circuit pack is missing from a shelf
(Group 3 or earlier) with two 27G-U OLIU circuit
packs or a 27G-U and 27G2-U OLIU circuit packs
in the corresponding FUNCTION UNITS slot pair.
Install BBF5 JMPR circuit pack in slot 8(P) of the
LOW SPEED GROUP associated with the
corresponding FUNCTION UNITS slots where the
27G-U/27G2-U OLIUs are installed.
A BBF5 JMPR circuit pack is missing from a shelf
(Group 3 or earlier) with two 27G2-U OLIU circuit
packs in the corresponding FUNCTION UNITS slot
pair. Install BBF5 JMPR circuit pack in slot 4 of the
LOW SPEED GROUP associated with the
corresponding FUNCTION UNITS slots where the
27G2-U OLIUs are installed.
The system is not communicating with another
shelf in the subnetwork. This system is normally
communicating with that shelf through the SONET
section DCC specified in the address column. The
rtrv-map-network: and
rtrv-map-neighbor: command will report the
name of the system(s) with which this system is not
communicating.
Likely causes: An unprotected OC-3 line failure in
the subnetwork, a controller failure, reset, or
initialization on another shelf, section DCC channel
failure on this or another shelf, or failure of the
OHCTL circuit pack.
