Use lightguide jumpers to loop the IN and OUT connectors of the MAIN 1 or
FUNCTION UNITS-( )-1 OLIU(s)(Tables B).

Replace the 0 dB LBO on the 22F-U, 22F2-U, 22G2-U, 22G3-U, or 22G4-U
OLIUs with a 0 dB LBO with a ST or FCPC connector on the MAIN 2 or
FUNCTION UNITS-( )-2(P) OLIUs, if required (Table A).

Use lightguide jumpers to loop the IN and OUT connectors of the MAIN 2 or
FUNCTION UNITS-( )-2(P) OLIU(s) (Tables B).

CAUTION:
22D-U , 22G-U , 24G-U/24H-U , 26G2-U , 27G-U/27G2-U , and
29G-U/29H-U OLIU s are shipped with 0 dB SC-type universal LBOs
installed (code - A3070 , comcode - 106795354 ). The 0 dB LBO must be
replaced with a 10 dB LBO when the 22D-U , 22G-U , 24G-U/24H-U ,
26G2-U , 27G-U/27G2-U , or 29G-U/29H-U OLIU is looped on itself
(Table C).
NOTE:
It may take from 15 seconds to 3 minutes and 25 seconds for the FAULT
LEDs to stop flashing, depending on the setting of the signal degrade
threshold (–5 to –9).
FAULT LED stops flashing.
ACTIVE LED remains on.
(If flashing, FAULT LED on OHCTL goes off after all
number one OLIUs are looped.)
If responses are not correct, check connections and
looping fibers. Clean connectors and repeat Step 3. If
responses are still not correct, replace OLIU.
In ring releases, the lighted major (MJ) or minor (MN) LED
remains lighted.
It may take 1 minute or more for LEDs and alarms to sta-
bilize after the OLIU(s) are looped.
FAULT LED stops flashing.
In ring releases, ACTIVE LED remains on.
Minor (MN) [major/minor (MJ/MN), if rings] alarm goes off.
If responses are not correct, check connections and
looping fibers. Clean connectors and repeat Step 5. If
responses are still not correct, replace OLIU.
It may take 1 minute or more for LEDs and alarms to
stabilize after the OLIU(s) are looped.
