9.
Provision the SYSCTL and 24/29-Type OLIUs using the set-ne,
set-sync, and set-fecom commands to parameters for the
existing NODE 1 OC-12 shelf. Use the ent-crs-( ) commands
to preprovision the proper cross connections for the new
24/29-Type OLIUs. (This procedure uses the cross connections
shown in Figures 1-3 as an example for this upgrade. Note the
preprovisioned cross connections for the 24/29-Type OLIUs in
Figure 2 and how they relate to the original cross connections in
Figure 1.)
10.
NOTE:
A CP removed alarm will occur when the OLIU is removed.
An inc. OC-3 LOS (blinking FAULT LED on OLIU) alarm
will occur at the other node connected to the removed fibers.
Other nodes will receive inc. VT and STS AIS alarms.
At the starting OC-3 NODE, (in this example, NODE 5 OC-3),
remove optical fibers from MAIN 1 OLIU, then remove MAIN 1
OLIU. See Figure 2.
11. At the starting OC-12 NODE, (in this example, NODE 1 OC-12),
remove optical fibers from MAIN B-1 OLIU and label fibers. See
Figure 2.
!
12.
CAUTION:
Exercise care in the following step. Do not unseat (unplug)
the OLIU . The faceplate latch must be only slightly lifted until
the FAULT LED lights. Do not put any pressure on the latch.
At the starting OC-3 NODE (NODE 5 OC-3), slightly lift the
faceplate latch on the MAIN 2(P) OLIU until the FAULT LED
lights.
13. At the starting OC-3 NODE (NODE 5 OC-3), remove SYSCTL.
14. At the starting OC-3 NODE (NODE 5 OC-3), insert preprovisioned
24/29-Type OLIU into MAIN 1 OLIU slot.
