!
CAUTION:
This procedure requires 22-Type OLIU circuit packs in all
shelves. If existing OLIU s will be replaced in this procedure,
you must determine if the 22-Type OLIU s will support the
existing span length. Optical line power measurements
and/or office records must be used to verify that the existing
span length can be supported.
!
CAUTION:
DDM-2000 circuit packs contain static sensitive components
which can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. A static
ground wrist strap must be worn when handling the circuit
packs. See electrostatic discharge considerations in Trouble
Clearing: TAD-100 .
NOTE:
This procedure requires that the system be taken out of
service long enough to change OLIU optical fiber
connections to the ring configuration. It is assumed that
Release 8 software is initially installed in each shelf to
support 22-Type OLIUs. It is assumed that TARP Release
13 or later software is required for the final ring configuration.
NOTE:
All shelves in the same network must have the same
software release.
NOTE:
You may also contact Lucent Technologies to provide an
in-service upgrade. Experienced Lucent Technologies
installers will help you plan and execute the network
upgrade. For more information, contact your Lucent
Technologies Account Representative.
