A craft interface terminal (CIT) is required to access optional
features of the DDM-2000 OC-3 Multiplexer, such as system
name (tid); site, and shelf number; security and logins; date
and time; far end communications (fecom); etc.
NOTE:
Alarm activity will result when optical fiber loops are removed
for end-to-end system testing.
Activate optional features as required from work order or office
records.

NOTE:
The procedures referenced in this step are used to establish
basic configurations. For other configurations requiring
connections with other systems (FT-2000, OC-12, etc.) or
networks, refer to the System Turnup/Circuit Order:
IXL-001 for procedures on how to connect OC-3/IS-3/EC-1
spans (for example, establishing dual ring interworking,
adding new spans or shelves, etc.).
After all shelves in the network have been tested, you can
establish the end-to-end DDM-2000 OC-3 subnetwork.
