NOTE:
As additional circuit packs are installed, office alarms may be
activated, accompanied by flashing FAULT LEDs on some of
the circuit packs. This is a normal condition at this stage of
the procedure. You can momentarily depress the ACO/TST
pushbutton to retire office alarms.
NOTE:
BBF4 TG3 circuit packs cannot be mixed with
BBF2/BBF2B/BBF2C TGS circuit packs in the same
DDM-2000 OC-3 shelf.
NOTE:
To avoid timing alarms before the end-to-end OC-3 system
has been established, the TGS/TG3 option switches must be
temporarily set to free running if either of the following is
true:
• DS1 external timing is specified but the DS1 timing
reference is not yet available.
• Line timing mode is specified but the OLIUs will be
optically looped back at the shelf.
When the DS1 external timing references become available
or when the end-to-end system is established, the timing
mode must be changed to the specified timing mode. If
external timing is the specified timing mode and external
timing is available to the shelf, the timing mode may be set
for external timing.
Install TGS/TG3 timing circuit packs.
