switched to receive mode in the remote centre. If Hicom Assistant E receives an error signal in this
mode, the "error history" is read out and deleted. The connection is then cleared down.
The procedure is the same if another error occurs: the current error is entered in the same file after the
previous entry on the Hicom Assistant E side.

13.5.2.3 Application notes:

The following can be configured with Hicom Assistant E:
Extension number of the error report recipient
Automatic function test, yes/no; time interval (1, 2 to 7 days)
The Hicom Assistant E PC tool can be configured to receive error reports. In this case, the Hicom
Assistant E is ready to receive after start-up. The PC application stores the error reports in a
predefined file. The application uses the same modem as remote administration and maintenance. For
this reason, a session cannot be started on a remote system while receiving is in progress. Hicom
Assistant E converts the binary error file to readable format for the purpose of evaluation.
13.5.3 Analog modem (IMOD) (not applicable to Hicom 150 E
OfficeOne)
This modem provides remote access to Hicom 150 E via analog trunks or tie trunks as well as via
subscriber lines.
The IMOD is designed as a plug-in card. The holding mechanism is located on the boards below,
depending on the system:
CBMOD
(Hicom 150 E OfficePro)
CBFC
(Hicom 150 E OfficeCom)
CBFC
(Hicom 150 E OfficePoint)
The service technician can easily install the modem card by sliding it into the holding mechanism
after opening the housing. The modem card must only be plugged into the system when the power
supply is off.
The IMOD is treated like a pseudo-port and receives an extension number within the system which
can be reached internally and by direct inward dialling. The DID number can be removed manually in
order to prevent external access. A password concept provides access control and the use of a callback
call or direct access.
The customer can program an individual 5-digit PIN code in the system administration. In order to
establish communication with the digital modem by means of the PC tool, this individual PIN code
must be entered on the PC tool.
By default, the PIN code does not provide access to the digital modem. This means that the customer
must explicitly obtain access to the modem by entering this PIN code.
The following characteristics/parameters apply to analog modem mode:
Transmission according to V.22bis (2400 Bd), V.32 (9600 Bd), V.32bis (14400 Bd)
Error correction according to V.42, MNP 2-4
