The radio coverage test is carried out in two stages:
the base stations are tested,
the coverage by the base stations is tested (area coverage)
12.5.1.1 Testing the base stations
The purpose of this test is to check that all base stations are functioning.
Procedure
Step
1.
Bring the Hicom cordless 150 E mobile telephone close to each of the base stations.
2.
Holding the mobile telephone directly below, beside or above each base station, turn it on and
off.
3.
Check that the mobile telephone picks up the connection (synchronisation) with each specific
base station (see also RPN).
Loss of the radio connection to the base station is displayed on the screen by means of a
blinking "ON" symbol (synchronism symbol).

Set the Hicom cordless 150 E mobile telephone to measuring mode (see
following appears in the display

RSSI value
the number of the base station (RPN).

If the measurement value is not achieved, you should check the RSSI value with a second
mobile telephone that has been logged on. Otherwise replace the BS.

Both values (RSSI value and RPN) should be entered in the building / site plan. The customer
must be informed about the limits of the radio range.
7.
Once the availability of all Hicom cordless 150 E base stations has been checked, continue
with the test for the area coverage.
12.5.1.2 Testing the area coverage
The purpose of this test is to check whether the necessary field strength has been attained in the entire
radio network.
Performing the test
This test must be carried out using two mobile telephones. Set up an internal call between two MTs:
the first MT tests the quality of the line, the second MT monitors the measuring values.
