Lay cables in such a way that there is no risk of them being damaged or causing accidents, as a result
of people tripping, for example.

1.1.4 General information

Connecting lines
All cables and lines leaving a system cabinet must be shielded between the connection point in
the cabinet and, at the very least, the point at which they leave the cabinet. Use a clip and
pressure screw to contact all braided shields to the cabinet outlet. This also applies to
permanently connected service equipment
Connect all cables to the specified connection points only.
Location of safety equipment
On completion of maintenance work, replace all safety equipment in the right place.
Checking tools
Check your tools regularly and only use those which are in perfect working order.
Closing doors
Close the doors after test and maintenance work has been completed.
Condensation
If the installation is brought from a cold environment into the operating premises, condensation can
occur. Wait until the temperature of the installation has adjusted to the ambient temperature and is
completely dry before starting it up.
Wall installation
Some walls (e. g. plasterboard walls) have a reduced load-bearing capacity. Before starting wall
mounting, check whether or not this is the case.
External modems
Do not install any external modems in the installation cabinets.
Flammable materials
Flammable materials should not be stored in the installation room or the immediate vicinity.
Risks at the workplace
Ensure that the workplace is well lit.
There is a greater risk of accident in an untidy workplace.
