7.8.6 Voice Calling / Direct Answer / Internal Paging

Definition
Voice calling allows an internal connection to be set up without the user called having to lift the
handset. The speaker on the destination extension is activated. Direct answer is performed by lifting
the handset or activating the microphone (on speakerphones). The call then becomes a normal
two-party call.
Voice calling also supports voice calls to groups (paging zones), also called "internal paging". In this
case, group members have no direct answer option. These group members can be optiset E terminals
or a speaker connected to an analog subscriber line circuit.
Voice calling and internal paging are possible in connection with internal optiset E terminals with
speakers. They are activated by means of a key or a code. For each extension, it is possible to
configure whether the user can receive a voice call.
