Suggested configuration
In order to prevent B channel blocking, the TMS2 and SLMC8 boards should be inserted in the BC or
in the first two slots of the ECs. When offline configuration is performed, Hicom Assistant E takes
these rules into consideration.

System with default numbering plan
The extension numbers of the new board are
appended consecutively and in ascending order to
the numbers already assigned.
System with modified numbering plan
The extension numbers on the new board can be
in any order.
Hicom Assistant E / Hicom Assistant T can be used to
assign a given extension number to a port. If the number
is already assigned to another object, the technician can
exchange the two extension numbers.
The board is activated. The surplus ports are retained in
the database.
The board is activated with the same number of ports as
the old board
After the old board is removed, this slot can be
reinitialised by means of Hicom Assistant E / Hicom
Assistant T.
When the new board is inserted, it is activated as though
it were subsequently inserted in a free slot. However,
the CDB area used by the old board is maintained as a
gap.
In the case of subscriber line modules, Hicom Assistant
E can be used to retain the old station data by copying it
to the new board or to delete it, i.e. reset to the default
state. Copying is not possible with line boards.
Board is not automatically activated.
After the old board is removed, this slot can be
reinitialised by means of Hicom Assistant E / Hicom
Assistant T.
