4.1.8 Checking the protective earth

Procedure
The tests listed in the table below should be carried out before system start-up to ensure that the
system is properly earthed.
Step
1.
Measure the ohmic resistance of the earth connection between the earth bus
and the system.
2.
Measure the ohmic resistance of the earth connection between the PE of the
AC power cable and the metal frames of the cabinet(s).
3.
Measure the ohmic resistance to earth from the PEN conductor of the socket
used.

4.1.9 Connecting the cables

Introduction
All cables that leave the cabinet must be attached to the ventilation grill of the metal back
panel by means of cable straps.
Set up the connection between the MDFU/MDFU-E and the system via CABLUs (cabling units
prefabricated in the factory) that have the following layouts:
System side: SIPAC 1 SU connector
Cable: 16 x 2 x 0.4 (the standard cable length is 2 m.)
