7.8.8 Message Texts / Mailboxes / Message Waiting

Definition
Sending a message
An internal extension can select a text from among various internal system message texts and
send it to another internal optiset E station with a display. The sending of the message can be
activated from the idle, ringing, busy states or from a call. During a call it is not necessary to
specify the extension number. An internal extension is an extension that can be reached via a
CorNet-N tie trunk. Connected analog voice mail or a central voice mail server in the CorNet-N
network can also initiate a message. A separate fixed text is available for messages from these
devices.
Receiving a message
A waiting message is signalled differently by the individual terminals:
- In the case of optiset E terminals with a display, the message is signalled via the display and in
some cases a configurable "mailbox key".
- In the case of optiset E terminals without a display, the message is indicated by the "mailbox
key".
- In the case of a special analog terminal with a "mailbox lamp" (special module) the waiting
message is indicated by this lamp (no key). This extension has to be configured accordingly.
- In the case of analog terminals (POT) a waiting message is indicated by a special dial tone (in
OfficeCom, OfficePoint and OfficeOne) or by the announcement "You have a message" in the
