Draining, axis-3 gearbox
Use this procedure to drain the gearbox of oil.
There is an alternative method to drain the gearbox. See
method on page

Action
Move the robot to an upright position as shown
in the figure.
DANGER
Turn off all:
• electric power supply
• hydraulic pressure supply
• air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the robot working
area.
WARNING
Handling gearbox oil involves several safety
risks, see Gearbox lubricants (oil or grease) on
page 36.
CAUTION
The gearbox can contain an excess of pressure
that can be hazardous. Open the oil plug care-
fully in order to let out the excess pressure.
Open the oil plug, armhouse
Type C and Type D: Open the other oil plug in
the armhouse and use it as a ventilation hole.
Other design than Type C and Type D: Open
the oil plug, gearbox and use it as a ventilation
hole.
