CAUTION
HBM uses state-of-the-art electronic components in its equipment. These
electronic components can be damaged by discharge of static electricity
(ESD). ESD damage is quite easy to induce, often hard to detect, and
always costly. Therefore we must emphasize on the importance of ESD
preventions when handling a GEN5i system, its connections or a plug-in
card.
7.2.1
Installing plug-in cards
To install plug-in cards:

Shut down the GEN5i system and remove the power input cable.

Open the top cover of the GEN5i unit.
Remove all top cover screws Phillips 1; 8x at the sides and 4x at the

rear.
Remove 2x hex 2.5 mm screws at the front bumpers (top).

Remove 2x Torx 20 at the rear bumpers (rear).

Gently lift the back of the top cover and slight it backwards to remove the
cover.
