4 Remove the screw holding the card retention bracket.

5 Lift the card retention bracket and put it aside in a secure place.
6 If installing a new card, remove the corresponding filler bracket to create
a cardslot opening.
7 If replacing a card that is already installed in the computer, remove the
card. If necessary, disconnect any cables connected to the card. Grasp
the card by its top corners, and ease it out of its connector.
8 Prepare the card for installation.
See documentation that came with the card for information configuring

the card, making internal connections, or otherwise customizing it for
your GEN5i system.
9 Place the card in the connector and press down firmly. Ensure that the
card is fully seated in the slot.
10 Replace the card retention bracket ensuring that:
The top of all cards and filler brackets are aligned in the chassis.

The notch in the top of the card or filler bracket fits around the align-
l
ment guide in the retention bracket.
11 Fix the card retention bracket by replacing and tightening the screw.
