The IM2 module has built-in synchronization capability for GEN2i systems only.
The following table shows the various supported configurations with the IM1,
IM2 and Master/Slave (M/S) cards installed.

Standard Synchronization: Synchronizes the first sample in the
recording for each mainframe, prevents frequency drift of the sample
rates within each mainframe, synchronously exchanges every channel
trigger connected to the Master/Slave trigger bus to/from each
connected mainframe and automatic cable length delay compensation.
