Getting started
When GEN5i is started up for the first time, the Perception software will start
and automatically connect to the integrated GEN5i data acquisition unit.
Perception starts in the continuous mode and the acquisition unit will go into
Pause mode: incoming signals will be monitored, but no data is stored.
When you change nothing, this will be the default behavior each time you start
the system.
Each time you shut down, changes made to the preferences and setting will be
saved automatically. These setting are then loaded the next time you turn on
the GEN2i.
Quick Start
To set up your Quick Start:

Start the instrument

Set up your work environment

On the File menu, click Preferences

In the Preferences dialog select Start up

Under Quick Start select the Use Quick Start check box

To create a new Quick Start configuration click Create
7
Click Apply or OK to confirm
To disable Quick Start:
1
On the File menu, click Preferences

In the Preferences dialog select Start up

Under Quick Start click to clear the Use Quick Start check box
4
Click Apply or OK to confirm
Perception can also be started in another mode. To start Perception in a specific
mode:

On the File menu, click Preferences

In the Preferences dialog select Start up

Under User Mode select your preferred Default User Mode

Click Apply or OK to confirm
If you do not set up a Quick Start, the system will use the factory default
continuous user mode the next time you start up the system.
