Front panel control

Standby
On the GEN5i the power button is located on the front panel. When this button
is pressed, the instrument state toggles between operating and standby mode.
In standby mode some power will be consumed and the instrument is NOT
disconnected from the AC supply. To switch off the instrument completely from
the mains power use the switch that is located on the back of the instrument.
When you switch off the GEN5i using this power button, the Perception software
will display a confirmation dialog. Follow the on-screen instructions for a correct
shutdown of the system. If, for any reason, you are not able to use a keyboard
or mouse to confirm you must hold the standby button pressed for
approximately four seconds to force the unit to shut down.
Acquisition control
On the GEN5i you find five buttons that allow you to easily control an acquisition
without the need of a keyboard or mouse.
These buttons are located in the upper right-hand corner of the front panel.
They provide the same functionality as the software-based acquisition controls.
