redistribute (BGP Router Config)

This command configures BGP to advertise routes learned by means outside of BGP. BGP
can redistribute local (connected), static, OSPF, and RIP routes.
The distribute-list out command can also be used to filter redistributed routes by prefix. Either
a redistribute route map or a distribute list may be configured, but not both.
A default route cannot be redistributed unless the
Config)
command is given.
If a route map is configured, match as-path and match community terms are ignored. If no
route map is configured with the name given, no prefixes are redistributed.
Default
BGP redistributes no routes by default. When BGP redistributes OSPF routes, it redistributes only
internal routes unless the match option specifies external routes.
