Digi TX40 Quick Start

Step 1: Connect your device

1. Insert your activated SIM (4FF) card(s) provided by your cellular carrier into the device.
a. On the TX40 front panel, use a screwdriver to remove the SIM slot cover.
b. For high-vibration environments, SIM card contact fretting may cause unexpected SIM card
failures. To help avoid this, apply a thin layer of dielectric grease to the SIM contacts. See
Apply Dielectric Grease over SIM Contacts
c. Remove the SIM tray(s) from the TX40.
d. Fit the 4FF SIM into the tray. Insert the end of each SIM card with the chamfered corner
first and the SIM contacts facing upwards.
e. Re-insert tray into the TX40.
f. After all SIM cards are in place, replace the SIM slot cover.
2. Attach cellular antennas.
Push on each antenna and ensure that it clicks into place.
Note
Antennas are available in an accessory kit for the TX40. All Cellular, Wi-Fi and GNSS
antennas should be connected in order for the TX40 features to operate correctly.
3. (Optional) Using an Ethernet cable, connect the TX40's WAN/ETH1 port to the internet, such as
an office network or LAN Ethernet port in an office environment.
Step 2: Connect DC power
