SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The ROTAX® engine type 915 i A Series has an
electronically controlled double-ignition system with
an integrated generator.

EMS POWER SUPPLY

The EMS power supply consists essentially of 2 per-
manent magnet generators. The two 3-phase AC
generators are physically separate power supplies
which are integrated in the engine. One of the gener-
ators is used for the ECU and the other is available
to the aircraft frame.

DRIVE

They are driven by the crank drive and do not need
an external power supply once the engine has
reached idle speed.
NOTE
Until idle speed is reached, a 12 V external
power supply of the EMS from the aircraft's on-
board power system is required.

SAFETY INSTRUCTION

m WARNING
Danger of damage to engine! There is a risk of
short circuits and cable fires during work on
the electric system.
All installation work on the electric system should
be carried out with the engine switched off and the
battery (negative terminal) disconnected. Ignition,
