Always allow engine to cool down to ambient temper-
ature before start of any work.

Never open the radiator cap when the cooling system
is hot. For safety's sake, cover cap with a rag and
open slowly. Sudden opening of the cap could pro-
voke the escape of boiling coolant and result in scald-
ing.

Open the radiator cap (1) on the expansion tank (2).
Check the coolant level. The coolant level must be filled up to the top (see
Sketch).
Inspect coolant with densimeter or glycol tester. Strongly discolored or thick-
ened coolant must be replaced.
Use only coolant as recommended in the current Operators
NOTICE
Manual.
If necessary, replenish with coolant of same composition.
Tighten the radiator cap by hand.
NOTE:
The radiator cap must be tightened until the stop lug is
contacted.
Operate the engine until the temperatures have stabilized for a period of 5 min.
(engine oil temperature between 50 to 70 °C (122 - 160 °F).
Switch the engine OFF.
Allow the engine to cool down.
Check for leaks.
Check the coolant level and top up with coolant as required.
