Checking/Changing

NOTE: Check the fluid level with the engine at normal

operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on).

Remove the dipstick (yellow loopl from the trans-

mission, and wipe it with a clean cloth.

Insert the dipstick into the transmission.

R e m o v e t h e d i p s t i c k a n d c h e c k t h e f l u i d l e v e l .

should be between the u9Der and lower marks.

lf the level is below the lower mark. pour the recom-

mended fluid* into the tube to bring it to the upper

Bring the transmission up to operating temperature

b y d r i v i n g t h e v e h i c l e . P a r k t h e v e h i c l e o n l e v e l

ground, turn the engine off, then remove drain plug

and drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF).

Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer,

then refill the transmission with the recommended

fluid* to the upper mark on the dipstick.
