Removal
NOTE:
. l f t h o t r a n s m i s s i o n h o u s i n g o r c l u t c h h o u s i n g a r e
r e p l a c e d , t h e b e a r i n g p r e l o a d m u s t b e a d j u s t e d
(818C1 8nd 818C5 engines).
. Place the clutch housing on two pieces of wood thick
enough to keep the mainshaft from the hifting the
workbench.

Remove the back-up light switch.

Remove the transmission hanger B.
3.
Remove the set screws, the springs, and the steel
balls.

Replace.
Remove the reverse idler gear shaft bolt.

Loosen the transmission housing attaching bolts in
a crisscross pattern in several steps, then remove
t h e m .
TRANSMISSION
Remove the 32 mm sealing bolt.
Expand the snap ring on the countershaft ball bear-
ing and remove it from the groove using a pair of
snap ring pliers.
