The scan tool indicates Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0123r A high voltage problem in the Throttle position
(TP) sensor circuit,

DTC P0123 is stored.
Problem veriticationl
1 . S t a r t t h e e n g i n e . H o l d t h e
engine at 3,000 rpm whh no
load (in Park or neutral) until
the radiator tan comes on, then
turn the ignition swhch OFF.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (ll).
3 . C h e c k t h e t h r o t t l e p o s i t i o n
with the scan tool.
ls there approx. l0% when
the throttle is fullyclosed
and approx. 90% when the
throttle is fully opened?
Intermittoni {ailure, system is OK
al this time. Check tor poor con-
nections or loose wires at C115
{TP sensor} and ECM.
Check for an open in the TP sen-
sot:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the TP sensor con,
nectot.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (ll).
4. Measure voltage between TP
s e n s o r c o n n e c t o r t e r m i n a l s
N o . 3 a n d N o . ' 1 .
ls there approx. 5 V?
Check for an open in th€ wire
(SG2linel:
Measure voltage between ECM
connector terminals Dl0 and 011.
Ropair open in the wir6 between
E C M l D 1 1 l a n d T P s e n s o r .
ls there approx. 5 V)
