Install the timing belt (see page 6-12).
Adjust the valve clearance (see page 6-3).
lnstall the rubber seal in the groove of the cylinder
head cover. Seat the seal in the recesses for the
camshaft first, then work it into the groove around
the outside edges.
NOTE:
. B e f o r e i n s t a l l i n g t h e r u b b e r s e a l , t h o r o u g h l y
clean the seal and the groove.
. W h e n i n s t a l l i n g , m a k e s u r e t h e s e a l i s s e a t e d
securely in the corners of the recesses with no
gap.
RUEBER SEAL
1 8 . Apply liquid gasket to the rubber seal at the eight
corners of the recesses.
NOTE:

Use liquid gasket, Part No. 08718 - OO01 or 08718
- 0003.
. Check that the mating surfaces are clean and dry
before applying liquid gasket.
.
Do not installthe parts if 5 minutes or more nave
e l a p s e d s i n c e a p p l y i n g l i q u i d g a s k e t . I n s t e a d ,
reapply liquid gasket after removing old residue.
. After assembly, wait at least 30 minutes before
f i l l i n g t h e e n g i n e w i t h o i l .
Apply liquid gasket to
the shaded areas.
